Asparagus Festival
Last weekend we went to the Asparagus Festival in Stockton. It is really fun to taste the delicious things they make with asparagus. We were able to attend last year with my family when were visiting Ripon for Jeremiah's baby shower. It is so fun to start comparing events from year to year. However, a part of me is sad that we are past a lot of your firsts! I am looking forward to Easter with Jeremiah this year. He was born the day after Easter last year.

Jeremiah is ONE!
We had so much fun celebrating our little man. On Saturday we had a party at our house for family and friends. The weather ended up being perfect. It started out a little cloudy and windy but the sun decided to shine. I was thankful it didn't get any hotter or colder or we would have had to party inside. It was so much fun handmaking things for the party (bib, cupcake tower, 1 shirt). Here was our John Deere fun!
(favors- each kid got to take home a ball- I think they all loved it!)
On his actual birthday (Tuesday, April 5 2011) we made pancakes and strawberries for breakfast, took a walk to the park, opened more presents, and got frozen yogurt after dinner. It was his first time trying any kind of ice cream. At first he did not like how cold it was but once he got over that he loved the taste. We also put a candle in it since on his party it was a little too windy for the candle. When I told him to blow out the candle he started blowing kisses. Such a sweet boy!
I feel so blessed to be Jeremiah's mom. He is such a sweet, funny, curious, talkative, loving, adorable little boy. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching him grow this past year and can not wait to see what the next year holds. Love you Jeremiah!

Curtains and Walking
I've been making a lot of things lately with my sewing machine. Some things for Jeremiah's birthday (pictures will come later) and these curtains! Jon got me a sewing table so I am able to keep my machine out which make it easier to sit down and make something! I got this beautiful home fabric for $2 a yard! So total cost was only $12!! Although the rod was about triple that! Yikes!
My little peanut is startimg to walk!!! He took his first steps yesterday and has been trying really hard ever since!

John Deere Fun
I am so excited for Jeremiah's first birthday!! I can not believe my baby is going to be ONE!! We are having a BBQ at our house to celebrate him with friends and family. And its all about John Deere. I think I'm going to see green and yellow forever! I've been searching every store for anything and everything for this party (the cheap way though). Here are the invites my friend Laura made. Many pictures to come!

Diaper Derby
Last weekend was the 49th Annual Almond Blossom Festival here in Ripon. Every year they have a diaper derby on Saturday morning for all crawling babies under 1. It is an adorable race to see which baby can crawl across a mat the fastest. There were 6 different "heats" with about 8 babies in each heat (totally a baby boom this past year). Of course Jeremiah was in the last heat. As we watched the first 5 heats take place I start getting nervous as to how Jeremiah was going to react to the loud cheering crowd and the crawling. We watched many babies not move an inch, or even cry because they were scared. Finally it was our turn. Here is what Jeremiah did..... (he is the blue shirt)
Took off as fast as he could.
Was schooling all the babies!!
Having a blast and smiling as usual.
Thought we has a winner on our hands!!! He crawled halfway over the finish line and.......
SAT UP!!!! What a stinker!!
After a few seconds of sitting there he turned around and crawled back to Jon.
We really had a good time but as the "Mama Bear" I was so sad my little one didn't win. I think I was so sad because in a heat before us a mom picked up her daughter the minute she touched the line and they let her win!! Oh well.... Jeremiah is the winner in our hearts!!! =) We got it all on video and are going to have a blast watching it when he gets older! What fun memories.

Almond Blossoms
This is my favorite time of year here in Ripon. All the orchards are blooming with beautiful white flowers that fill the air with a sweet scent. I am so happy that we live here now to be able to enjoy these few weeks. This coming weekend is the Annual Almond Blossom Festival. A carnival comes to town, a parade comes down main street, a diaper derby race, a 8k race, and a lot of delicious food and family time to be had! Jeremiah will be racing in the diaper derby. I am so excited to see how he does! Jon will be running in the 8k race. We will be enjoying the parade with family and enjoying the short walk to the carnival. What a fun weekend to live in a small town!
Please pray for the rain to hold off for a while! Not only so the festivities can be held but mostly for the blossoms on the trees. If there is rain and cold weather, the blossoms do not get pollinated and then they do not produce! That would be horrible for all the farmers.
